What is a “GAF MasterElite Contractor?”

Mar 27, 2018 | Roofing | 0 comments

To become factory-certified as a GAF Master Elite® contractor, a roofing contractor needs to show that they are:

Properly Licensed
Licensed by their state (or province) to perform roofing work*
Adequately Insured
for your protection
Have a Proven Reputation
for providing quality roofing services throughout the community
Committed to Ongoing Professional Training
to ensure quality installation

Because of GAF’s stringent standards, only 3% of all roofing contractors have qualified as Master Elite® contractors!

Choosing a GAF Master Elite® contractor is your assurance that you’ll be dealing with a quality, reputable, and dependable professional contractor — not some “fly-by-nighter.”

Post-Installation Inspection & Warranty Registration

Question: What should I do after the roof is installed?

  • Walk the roof perimeter with your contractor (from ground level) for final review.
  • Request all warranty documentation (manufacturer and workmanship).
  • Register your warranty with the manufacturer (often the contractor does this on your behalf). Manufacturers like GAF highlight this as part of a proper system installation. GAF
  • Take photos of the new roof for insurance records.
  • Review maintenance instructions: cleaning gutters, trimming overhanging branches, and checking attic ventilation.
